Lee Roy Blackburn, Jr., 76, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at his residence.

Lee was born on November 23, 1943, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Lee Roy, Sr. and Jean Blackburn and the late Gussie Mae Anderson and Chuck Hudson. He was a self-employed carpet layer, a past Liberty National Insurance Salesman and former employee of Lowe's, where he enjoyed his co-workers, friends and serving others. As a member of Finley Baptist Church, he served as a Yokefellow, member of the Young at Heart, was the teacher of Mac Putnam 55 Class, was an Usher, served on the Coffee Club Prayer Team, served on the Samson Security Team and was the church custodian for 10 years. Lee was a retired volunteer Fireman and served as Fire Captain with the Finley Fire Department. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, being stationed in Okinawa, Wisconsin, Texas and Minnesota.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Finley Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Halliburton and Bro. Trevor Sewell officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Blackburn of Dyersburg, TN; two daughters, Gina Blackburn Bernard (Mike) of Caruthersville, MO and Megan Blackburn of Dyersburg, TN; a brother, David Blackburn (Jane) of Marion, AR; six sisters, Patsy Blackburn Wright (Dale) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Sandy B. Cross (Tom), Vickie Grigsby and Cathy Blackburn, all of Dyersburg, Joan Hudson Lee (James) of Finley and Ginny Parker (Olen) of Newbern, TN; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Blackburn of Muscle Shoals, AL; eight grandchildren, Tiffany B. Jones, Tabitha Blackburn, Jimmy Bernard, Jenna Lee Bernard, Carlee Friese, Cayden Friese, Kevann Whatley and Michael Henson; and a great-granddaughter, Bentley Whatley.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Lee Blackburn and Janeen Blackburn; and two brothers, Jimmy Blackburn and Kenneth Blackburn.

Pallbearers will be Tom Cross, Olen Parker, Jimmy Bernard, Mark Enochs, Scotty Hollis and Anthony Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Thrasher, Joe Hendrix, Brendon Stephenson, Fred Hughes, James Lee, Ron VanHoosier, Bill Pritchett, Nick Reeves, Thomas Boals and Jimmy Wells.
