Obituary for Mrs. Bobbie Sue Hastings
Ms. Bobbie Sue Hastings, age 87 of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. She was born on November 9, 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Robert and Dorothy Goodlett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank L. Hastings and her sister Nina Morris. She is survived by her children Connie Hughes, Mike Hastings (Darlene), and Cindy Henry (Richard), her sister Dorothy Covington, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Ms. Hastings was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was a graduate of East High School in 1952. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was such a sweet and kind person who was always encouraging to those around her, and had a generous spirit. She was a member at First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, a member of the Chancel Choir, and a member of the Hendersonville Bowling League. She and her husband Frank loved to travel together and did extensive traveling during their marriage. She also enjoyed fishing as a hobby. However, one of her biggest joys in life was music. She loved music and enjoyed singing and listening to music of all kinds, but especially hymns and easy listening. She was also a talented pianist, and played piano by ear.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Ms. Hastings has requested that donations be made to First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 12pm-2pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will begin at 2pm in the Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. In accordance with local mandates and current CDC recommendations, masks will be required, and temperature checks will be conducted upon entrance to the funeral home.
