ALBERT DANIEL DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Albert Daniel, a progressive farmer, insurance and real estate agent and prominent Woodson County Republican of the Big Sandy Community east of Toronto, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, January 8, 1939 (stated in the paper) at the Johnson Hospital in Chanute, Kansas.
Mr. Daniel became ill the Tuesday before his death on Thursday became much worse. He was taken to the hospital Sunday evening and shortly after arriving there suffered a heart attack from which he did not rally. He had been in poor health for two years or more, but his condition at the time of this illness was as normal as usual.
Albert was born on Big Sandy just east of Lake Fegan and lived on the old Daniel farm his entire lifetime. He served three terms in the Kansas Legislature as Representative from Woodson County from 19256 to 1932. He served his district well and to the satisfaction of his constitutients. His efforts were a big factor in the location and securing of the construction of Lake Fegan. He always stood ready to help boost the progressive and helpful things in the community.
Albert was well informed on all local and especially Kansas subjects. We shall all miss his smile and cheerful greeting on our streets. He was an honest, conscierntions (as spelled in the article) Christian man and will be greatly missed by relatives and friends alike.
Funeral services were held at the family home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. R. L. Cecil, pastor of the Christian Church of Yates Center. Interment was in the Big Sandy Cemetery.
