Earlene Johnson was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Kaufman, Texas. She was born to Sanders King and Gertrude King Cook. She later moved to Idabel where she met and married Lyndale Johnson of (65) years and to this union nine children was born. She passed at the age of 82, peacefully surrounded by family, on Nov. 1, 2020 at UT Southwestern Hospital, Dallas, Texas. She attended grade school at Slater and then went on to complete her high school years at Booker T. Washington. She accepted Christ early in Life and later joined First Baptist Westside, Idabel.

Earlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved watching movies, shopping and meeting new friends.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Sanders King and Gertrude King Cook; her two sons, Lyndell Johnson Jr. and Stevie Charles Johnson; one brother, Johnny Brown; and three half-brothers, Ed King, Pete King and Glover King.

Earlene will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Lyndale Johnson of the home; sister and best friend, Shirley King Reed, Idabel, Bonnie Johnson, Idabel, Terry Wilson and Carol Wilson, Norman, Parese Richard and Timothy Giles, Edmond, Diane Johnson and Craig Young, Idabel, Gail Lewis and Terry Lewis, Idabel, James Johnson, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Karen Johnson, Edmond; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
