Lorraine Jane Cook, 79, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday October 31, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, WV. Lorraine was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary.
She was born on August 28, 1941 in Christian, WV to the late Melvin Cook (1901-1975) and Tressie Tiller-McCoy-Waytovich-Cook-Atha (1909-1999). In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ginger Michelle Harless (Deceased); and siblings, French McCoy (Deceased), Russell Waytovich (Deceased) and Paul Waytovich (Deceased), Walter L. Cook (Deceased), James "Arnold" Cook (1942-1968), Gracie Ann Acord-Cook (1945-2006), Mary F. Cook-Felty (1938–2007), Martha G. Cook-Leal (1938–2008), William Carl Cook (1939–2016), James Arnold Cook (1942–1968), and Josephine Cook-Spinks (Deceased).
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years Huey Edward Cook (B. 1940) whom she married on October 1, 1960 in Oceana, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1960, Page 434, Application Date: September 27, 1960); a daughter, Carrie Sue Cook-Gibson & husband Cody Gibson of Rock Spring, WY; a son, David Cook of Kernersville, NC; a cousin, James Tiller & wife Nancy Tiller of Gilbert; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a brother, Carl Cook; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Jackie Grimmett officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
