Mary F. Felty, 69, of Gore, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, in Winchester Medical Center. She was the most gentle, gracious and kind woman I ever knew. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and lived her life with courage and honor. She was the daughter of Melvin and Tressie Tiller Cook. She was a member of Century Park Baptist Church in Kernersville, N.C., and attended Hebron Baptist Church in Gore.
She married Curtis Eugene "Gene" Felty on Feb. 14, 1958, in Alexandria, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband are a son, Timothy E. Felty of Gore; two daughters, Donna L. Felty of Winchester and Mariah Brazil of Oak Island, N.C.; two brothers, Carl Cook of Baileysville, W.Va. and Paul Waytovich of St. Augustine, Fla.; three sisters, Jo Spinks of Alexandria, Martha Leal of Fairfax, and Lorraine Cook of Oceana, W.Va.; and eight grandchildren.
A brother, Arnold Cook, and a sister, Grace Acord, are deceased. Four weeks after her death, her identical twin sister, Martha Cook Leal, also died.
She will be missed every moment of every day. Rest in peace, dear mother. I love you.
