Sister Jeannette Abi-Nader, H.M., formerly Sr. M. de Sales, 87, died October 27, 2020 at Villa Maria Community Center, Villa Maria PA. Originally from Masontown, PA, she graduated from Villa Maria High School, Villa Maria, PA in 1950 and entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1951 from All Saints Parish. She professed her perpetual vows in 1958. Sr. Jeannette earned her BA from Seton Hill College, Greensburg, PA; her MA from the University of Notre Dame and her PhD from Georgia State University, Atlanta. She dedicated herself as an educator in secondary and higher education teaching at Magnificat High School, Rocky River and high schools in Canton, Villa Maria, PA and Atlanta, GA. She also taught at the University of Notre Dame; Georgia State University; the University of Pittsburgh and Gonzaga University, Spokane WA. Sr. Jeannette served in leadership for the HM Congregation from 2001-05. The daughter of the late Boutros Rashid Abi-Nader and Mary (nee Azizzy) Nader, and sister of the late Richard Nader, she is survived by her sister, Bernadette Nader Lazo; brothers, Shebl, Frank and Boutros (Bud) Abi-Nader; many loving nieces and nephews and their families and her sisters in the Humility of Mary Congregation with whom she shared her life for 69 years. Due to the current pandemic, her burial has taken place in the Sisters' Cemetery at Villa Maria. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, Development Office, PO Box 534, Villa Maria PA 16155. Arrangements by McCauley Funeral Home -Youngstown.
