"Fritz" was a well known farmer and ferry boat operator on the Muskingum River near Rock Cut. (better known to family as at the "foot of Jane Kinney hill." He'd run the ferry for 15 years until he retired in 1937. He came to this country through Ellis Island in 1874 with the father the late Valentine and mother Elizabeth Adolph. Surviving are his wife, Leota (Kinney) Adolph, three sons, Bernard, Francis, Lester, all of the home. Two daughters, Mrs. Edna (Harry) Garver of Dresden and Mrs. Isabelle (Reed) Mitchell.
