Shreveport LA Journal, Saturday, April 29, 1967:
Tony Messina, Ex-Shreveporter, Dies in California
Tony Messina, 51, of Burbank, Calif., father of a local man and the brother of six Shreveport residents, died early today at Burbank after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Messina is the father of Tommy Messina of Shreveport and the brother of Frank Messina, Joe Messina, Louis Messina, Vince Messina, Dominic Messina, and Newt Messina, all of Shreveport.
In addition to his son and brothers here, Mr. Messina is survived by his widow, the former Dorothy Tuminello of Shreveport; three other sons, Donnie Messina, Michael Messina and Eugene Messina; a daughter, Theresa Messina, and a sister, Mrs. Tony Cavallero, all of Burbank.
Funeral arrangements for the former Shreveport resident were incomplete early today. The funeral and burial will be at Burbank.

Former Resident Dies in Burbank
Tony Messina, 51, a native Shreveporter, died suddenly at a Burbank, Calif., hospital at 1:30 a.m. Saturday after suffering a heart attack.
He was a Fair Park High School graduate and resided here until 1948, having been a service station and trolley operator. Prior to his death, he was the owner and operator of a plumbing company in Burbank.
He is survived by his widow, the former Dorothy Tuminello of Shreveport, now residing in Burbank; four sons, Tommy Messina, Shreveport, and Donnie Messina, Michael Messina and Eugene Messina, all of Burbank; one daughter, Theresa Messina, Burbank; six brothers, Frank, Joe, Louis, Vincent, Dominic and Newt Messina, all of Shreveport; and one sister, Mrs. Tony Cavallero, Burbank.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
