Edward was 18 years, 7 months, and 24 days old when he died. His parents were William H. and Isabel (Lemon) Duncan, and he is buried with them and four siblings who died young: George W.; and unnamed infant; Jacob N.; and Mary J.

Their mother was the oldest child of William C. and Mary Ann (Wallis) Lemon. Their other children were John M. and Jacob Lemon, and two children, Elizabeth and Hiram Lemon who died near the time their father William died in 1842 when Isabel was just six years old. William and the two children are buried in Bethel Cemetery, a few miles west of this cemetery and also in Morgan County. In 1845, Mary Ann married Elijah Ash and had six more children, and after his death married Eli Dolbow and had one last child. Mary Ann is buried in Roberts Cemetery, Honey Bend Township, Montgomery County, Illinois. Her parents were James and Isabel (Wyatt) Wallis, who probably died in this same area of Morgan or nearby Scott County, Illinois, although their graves haven't been found.

William H. Duncan was the son of Greenup and Tomasin (Day) Duncan. Tomasin is also buried in this cemetery. Greenup is buried in Bowers Cemetery, another few miles west of here in Scott County, with his second wife Laura Jane Hess and his mother, Lucy (Browning) Duncan.
