Census records show Alice was a widow making a living by keeping boarders in her home. The 1910 Federal Census indicates she had one boarder and her two brothers, Eugene and John Henry, living in her house in addition to her children. The 1920 Federal Census indicates she had five boarders living in here house in addition to her children. And by the 1930 Federal Census, 63-year old Alice had six boarders and a grandson living in her home.
She succumbed to heart disease from which she had suffered for several years.
