Rosario “Rosie” Maliwat Abrina, 65, of Fresno, California, passed away on February 12, 2016 at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fresno.
Rosie was born in Manila, Philippines on October 8, 1950. She graduated from St. Theresa’s Manila and continued on to receive a degree in Interior Design from The University of Santo Tomas.
Rosie was married to Rizal on February 18, 1984; they were married for nearly 32 years.
Rosie was an entrepreneur and owned various businesses throughout the years, both in Manila and Fresno. She was also actively involved in the Filipino-American community in Fresno and served on the Board of Directors for eight years.
Rosie had a zest for life – her presence brought joy and laughter to so many. She loved music, film, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She is lovingly remembered by so many. She was the kindest soul.
Rosie is preceded in death by her father, Florentino, and brother, Alfredo.
Rosie is survived by her husband (and college sweetheart), Rizal; children, Jordana, Rosario “Ross”, and Ryan; mother, Angelina; siblings, Lourdes, Teresita, Dolores, Renato, and Florina; and other family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fresno, California on February 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Chapel of the Light Funeral Home and Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the National Kidney Foundation (https://www.kidney.org/donation?field_honor_flag=1&field_gift_type=memorial) in her memory.
