Daughter of John Smith and Alice Brecknock, granddaughter of Sir John I Carrington Smythe and Margaret Cromwell, descendant of Sir John Smythe from Norwell, Nottingham.

Wife of Thomas Cavendish, the son of Thomas Cavendish and Catherine Scudamoire. They were married in 1498 and had four children:
* George Cavendish 1497-1562
* Thomas Cavendish b 1501
* William Cavendish 1505-1557
* Audrey Cavendish b 1507

Alice died in 1515 and Thomas remarried to Agnes Gernon in 1517, and produced seven more children.

Thomas was the senior financial offical, or the "clerk of the pipe" in the Court of Exchequer.
