Laid to Rest.
S. M. Smith, better known to our citizens as Don Smith, died at Eldorado Springs, Mo., on Saturday last, and his remains were brought home for interment Monday. Deceased had been ill for sometime and was sojourning at Eldorado Springs, in the hope that he might be benefited by the waters of that famous resort, at the time of his death.
He leaves a wife and two children, the youngest, an Infant, is now lying seriously ill. The sympathy of the community goes out to the young wife and mother, who is thus called upon to bear a doubly heavy burden of sorrow. We wish it was in our power to say aught to lessen her grief, but mere words have but little in them to heal hearts thus torn and we can only commend them to the power above, who alone can offer true consolation. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Payne, of the M. E. church.
