Newport and Bradford Connecticut - Janice L. (Hurlburt) Moores 81, died Nov. 9, 2020 at Sanfield Rehab and Living Center in Hartland, ME following a brief illness. She was born in Middleborough, Mass. Nov. 8, 1939 the daughter of John and Alice (Ludden) Hurlburt.
Janice worked at Dexter Shoe Co. in Dexter, ME then relocated to Branford, CT and started her career as a diligent Certified Nurse's Aide for over 18 years at the Guilford House in Guilford, CT.
Upon retirement she moved to Newport, ME and worked as a loving foster grandmother in the Newport School System. Janice enjoyed helping others and dedicated her life to serving her community. She loved spending time with her family. She always said her most treasured moments were spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of over 42 years Carroll Meagher, her three children from a previous marriage to Harold Moores: Brenda of Pittsfield, ME, Roland of Augusta, ME, Cynthia of Branford, CT, three grandchildren Curtis (Megan), Melissa (Jeffrey), Shawn(Karla) and several great grandchildren, her sister Beulah Hanson of Eliot and her brother Dennis Hurlburt of lake Wales, Florida.
Janice was predeceased by her brother Vaughn Hurlburt of Hampton , VA, Charlene Burbury of Whitinsville, MA, and John Gailen Hurlburt of Palmyra, ME.
Graveside services were conducted on Sat. Nov. 14, 2020 at Riverside Cemetery in Newport, Maine.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sanfield Rehab & Living Center for the exceptional care that Janice received as a resident in the facility for the past three years due to Alzheimer's disease. She will be forever missed and loved dearly for all the years to come
