Roscoe (everyone called him Rod) was born in Albion, NE; he was the son of Charles and Jessie F. (Davis) Roadruck. He attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He performed his residency at Saint Luke's Hospital in Denver, CO. His medical specialty was Neuropsychiatry. He enlisted in the US Army Medical Corp.
He died from a heart attack on August 19, 1954 while working at Fort Miley VA Hospital and was cremated. Buried in Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery, Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co., CA His remains were later transferred to Woodlawn Memorial Park in Colma, San Mateo Co., CA.
