Dorothy was born in Salida, CO at home (1011 G Street). Upon graduation from Salida High School in 1930, she attended Nursing School at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, CO and received a diploma in nursing in 1933. It was here that she met her first husband, Dr. Roscoe "Rod" Roadruck, who was doing his residency. They were married in Denver about 1934. He entered the U.S. Army as a Captain and was stationed at the Veterans Hospital in Batavia, NY There Dorothy also enlisted into the Army as a WAC nurse. She always loved medicine and worked as a nurse until she was in her 70's. She was known as "Dot" by all her friends and family.

She had one son, Davis "Dave", who also followed his parents into the medical field.

Dorothy had been divorced from Rod when he died of a heart attack at the age of 48 in San Francisco, CA. She married Bob Eason who was an engineer for McDonnell Douglas aircraft. Together they designed and built a home on a 5 acre homestead in the desert of southern CA near Yucca Valley and lived there until after Bob past away.

When Dorothy passed away, her ashes were spread on the homestead in Yucca Valley.
