A Graveside Celebration for Mr. Allen Davis of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 will be held on Saturday, March 13th, 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Rev. Quantai Washington, officiating. The interment will follow.
Mr. Allen Davis was born on June 3, 1923 to the Late Pink Davis and Francis Rothwell Davis in Pensacola, Florida. Allen was educated in the public schools of Santa Rosa County, FL. On June 6, 1952 he married the love of his life "Inez Hughes". Allen started his career with the City of Tampa in 1959, He retired from the City of Tampa on July 30, 1981 after 22 years of service. And let's not forget Allen's life passion was the thrill of dog racing and CNN. On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, his mortal body slipped away and his soul found Eternal Rest and Peace. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Inez; parents the late Pink and Francis Davis; Daughter Gloria Jean Davis Johnson; siblings Buster, Henry, Dock, Jimmy, Cecil, Rosa and Ethel Davis; Grandsons Daryl and Dion Johnson, Michael Hampton and Son-In-Law Joshua Dunlap III; Brother-in-laws, Frank Lillie, Roosevelt Lowe; Sister-in-Laws, Elizabeth Davis; Dorothy Davis, Flora Mae Davis and Bettie Daniels. He leaves to cherish his fond memories: 1 son, Calvin (Everlina) Davis; 6 daughters, Martha Ann Davis, Anita Dunlap, Alice Davis Strong, Grace Davis, Charlotte "Nita Giles" Stanford and Gianna Morrison; grandchildren, Neil Wilson, Tavarsha Johnson, Howard Davis, Tiffany Davis, Kareem (Myra) Dessesseau, Kamelah (Joseph) Rivers, Willie (Shenita) Bailey, Jr, Faran (Nekisha) Bailey, Jason Tucker, Shikeena (Tamar) Barnes, Jose Williams, Sheree Thomas, Alana Davis, Charde' Sylvester, Stephon Morrison, Garry Hicks II and Zion Jones; 38 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law Alonzia Jones Giles; sister-in-law Richardean Davis. Sorrowing Families; Davis, Lillie, Joyner, Bailey, Kendall, Dessesseau, Gyden, Dixon, Balkman, Jackson, Davis, Shuler, Filmore, Nelson, Chaney, Johnson, Kirkland, Kennedy, Allgood, Hodges, Taylor, Shaun the barber, The Hair and Lounge and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
