Opal Edwards, 81 of St. Clair, formerly of Patoka passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 surrounded by family.
She was born on March 22, 1939 the daughter of Moses and May (Warren) Prater in Eminence, MO. She married the love of her life Henry “Woody” Edwards on November 15, 1957 in Patoka and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2006.
Survivors that will cherish memories of Opal’s generosity and kindness include her beloved family, son, C. Edwards and wife M. of Dittmer, MO; daughters, Marsha of St, Clair, MO, Angie and husband David of Patoka, Amanda and husband Billy of Cedar Hill, MO; brother, R. Prater and wife N. of Lubbering, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In addition to her husband Woody, she was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and May Prater; brothers, Lowell Prater, Lloyd Prater, Floyd Prater, Bill Prater; sisters, Imogene Folta, Eunice Martin, Betty Duckett; son-in-law, James Myers; and a granddaughter, Kayla Moore.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Pratt Cemetery in rural Patoka, IL.
