John was in the Meadows fight in Deerfield in 1704. He also saw a lot of service in the Indian Wars. He was wounded and captured in the attack near Deerfield June 22, 1709. The wounds and hardships made him a cripple. He received a pension from the Colony during the latter years of his life.
