Private ISAAC KIDDER, at twenty-one years of age served in a Massachusetts Regiment during the war. Isaac Kidder enlisted 28 April 1775, in Captain James Hosley's Company of Minutemen, part of Colonel William Prescott's Regiment. They marched to the Lexington Alarm of 19 April 1775, then to Cambridge, for 9 days service.

He also served in Captain Henry Farwell's, 1st Company of Colonel William Prescott's, 10th Regiment, enlisting 25 April 1775 mustered in, 1 August 1775 for 98 days service.

Isaac Kidder also appears on a list of men raised to serve in the Continental Army from Captain Hosley's Company in Colonel Jonathan Reed's, 6th Middlesex County Regiment. He enlisted for three years service at Littleton, Massachusetts 29 May 1777 he gave his residence as Townsend.
He enrolled in Lieutenant William Washington's 3rd Regiment of Light Dragoons in the Continental Army as a private and was paid for service from 1 January 1777 to 13 December 1779.

Isaac Kidder resided in Townsend, moving probably shortly after his marriage in Norridgewock, where he remained permanently and became prominent in town affairs.
