Fond du Lac - Kenneth K. Thone, 81, passed away on December 11, 2020 at Edenbrook Nursing Home. He was born at home in Clarks Mills, WI on December 22, 1938 to Raymond and Christina (Kresser) Thone.
Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp for several years following his graduation from high school. He married Mary Ann Christianson on February 9, 1963 at St. Peter's Church in West De Pere.
Ken worked at Lapcore, Weyerhaeuser and finished his career employed for over 30 years at Tecumseh.
Ken loved hunting, fishing, camping, working in the woods and playing cards. He enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, Bucks and Badgers. Ken was an assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 802 out of Chilton. Ken loved his children and his extended family. He was a wonderful husband. Ken will be missed.
Ken is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann, son Andrew (Kate) Thone, son-in-law Darren (Suzanne) Sattler, grandchildren Joshua (Heather) Thone, Benjamin Thone, Tjark (Jordyn) Sattler, Abigail (Joel) Screnock, and great grandchildren Oliver and Aubrey Thone.
Ken is further survived by sisters Bertha Kulnick, Audrey Leicht, Marlene (Leonard) Kohlmann, brothers-in-law William (Dorothy) Christianson, James (Debbie) Christianson, Carl Christianson, Gerald Christianson, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Sattler, parents Raymond and Christina Thone, brothers and sisters Donald and Elaine (Franz) Thone, Raymond and Lorraine (Stock) Thone, Ralph Thone, Betty Jane Thone, Margaret (Thone) and Ronald Wisnowski, brothers-in-law Charles Kulnick, Donald Leicht and Robert Christianson, and nephews Jeffery Thone, Terence Kohlmann, David Christianson and David Kulnick, and parents-in-law Merrell and Margaret Christianson.
SERVICES: Ken's family invites relatives and friends for a time of visitation to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 S. Peters Avenue, on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church at 11:00 a.m. following visitation. Ken will be laid to rest in St. Charles Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established by the family in Ken's name.
Ken's family would like to thank the Memory Care Unit at Edenbrook for the compassionate care provided.
