Benjamin's death notice appeared in the Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette, July 8, 1886, page 5, as follows:
"MILLHEISER- at his residence, Harrison Township, on Tuesday, July 6, 1886, BENJAMIN MILLHEISER, late of Company B, 63d P.V., in the 44th year of his age, a member of Post 38, Etna, G. A. R.
Will be buried in Sharpsburg Cemetery today at 9 o'clock. Friends of the family, Post 38 and all old soldiers and friends of family respectfully invited to attend."
