Mary Margaret Cornwell was born on 30 March 1836 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Price Cornwell (1801-1871) and Elizabeth Cornwell (1813-1846). She was married to Rev. Thomas Jones (1825-1881), a Baptist preacher, on 8 September 1854 in Belmont Co., OH. They lived in Guernsey Co., OH the remainder of their lives. They had six children; Elizabeth Price "Lizzie" (1856-1919), William Alvord (1863-1924), Price Cornwell (1865-1900), Lorin Thomas (1869-1928), Bertha Dell (1872-1911), and Frieda F. (1876-1898). She succumbed to consumption (tuberculosis) on 23 October 1879 in Cambridge, OH at the age of 43.
