Martha Elizabeth Dornacker, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. E. C. Matthews passed away at the family home in Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 5, 1989.
A longtime resident of Albuquerque, she attended the city's public schools and the University of New Mexico.
She was a teacher at University Heights Grade School from 1934 to 1943. She was married to John L. Dornacker on November 8, 1941.
They recently celebrated their 48th anniversary. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, All Faith's Auxiliary, and gave many years of voluntary service to the Storehouse.
She is survived by her husband, John L. Dornacker; two daughters, Ann Madaras and Mary Dornacker (one daughter, Jane Dornacker Knickerbocker preceded her in death by three years); two sons-in-law, Major Ken Madaras and Rick Schalk; four grandchildren, Naomi Knickerbocker, Mary Elizabeth Madaras, Annemarie Madaras, and Louis Schalk; many family members in Tennessee and Minnesota as well as lifelong friends throughout the state of New Mexico.
She will be lovingly missed. Memorial services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monday, December 11th at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family advises that they would appreciate memorials to the charity of your choice. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle N.E. in charge of arrangements.
