Singer, Songwriter. She received much acclaim as an American Country Music award-winning singer and songwriter. She will best be remembered as the first female songwriter to receive the Country Music Association (CMA) Award for Song of the Year in 1988 for her 1987 hit "80s Ladies." Born Kay Toinette Oslin, she was 45 when she released her chart-topping debut country album "80's Ladies," which sold more than a million copies. During her career, she also received multiple Grammy and ACM Awards. Some of her other hits include "Hold Me," and "Come Next Monday." She was inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018.
