Elizabeth Richards, age 95 of Gary, Indiana, made her transition to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a wonderful and beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and a blessing to all that knew her. She was a faithful member of Logan Park Assembly of Christ, where she was a Mother of the church, served in the Prayer Band, also a member of Sunday School Class 15. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelley Richards; 5 brothers, Babe, Ab, Judge, Warren, and Roosevelt Bourns; 2 sisters, Angie Bourns and Corabell Barns, (Elizabeth was the last surviving sibling); daughter, Adline Tabron; and son, Luther Richards; 2 sons-in-law, Jimmie MemBres and William Sneed. She leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons, Murray Richards of Gary, IN, Levi (Helen) Richards of Gary, IN, Willis (Darlene) Richards of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Laura MemBres-Sneed of Gary, IN; special granddaughter, Elizabeth MemBres-Rendell of Gary, IN; 34 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Bertha Richards; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, July 31, 2009 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m. all services at the Logan Park Assembly of Christ, 1513 Polk St. Bishop George Stearnes, officiating. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park. Professional services rendered by Guy & Allen Funeral Directors, Inc.
