   Louise A. Schaefer, 90, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
   The daughter of the late Henry and Minnie (Dustman) Dubbelde, she was born March 4, 1912, in Omphghent Township in Madison County.
   She married Arthur F. Schaefer on Feb. 19, 1933, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown.  He died Dec. 30, 1979.
   She and her husband operated Schaefer's Tavern in Prairietown from 1955 to 1969, and she was Prairietown correspondent for The Alton Evening Telegraph for many years.  She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Prairietown and a member of the Ladies Aid of the church.
   Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Roberta Schaefer of Godfrey, Gerald and Connie Schaefer and Arlin and Sharon Schaefer, all of Prairietown; one daughter, Mary Ann Eberhart of Prairietown; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Rideout of St. Louis; one brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Edna Dubbelde of Bloomington, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
   In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Dubbelde; a son-in-law, Bill Eberhart; and a brother-in-law, Charlie Rideout.
   Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.
   Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Hennig officiating.
   Burial will be at Prairietown Cemetery.
   Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
