Dr. Mason was born in Booneville, MS, to Clarence and Nancy Lou Mason who both preceded him in death. He was married to Debra Stewart Mason.
Dr. Mason served in the U.S. Navy for four years and then worked as an Emergency Room Physician for many years. His greatest love was his family, and he made certain that most of his time was spent with them. He was never interested in alone time; he just wanted family time. His children have many memories of adventures riding in the jeep and exploring at the lake. He did enjoy special times in the mountains with Debra and especially loved the Boone Mountain area.
His favorite hobby was walking, and he was referred to as “the walker”. He especially liked walking in the rain and never turned down an offer to go for a walk.
Dr. Mason leaves his family a legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity. He was always willing to help anyone with any need they had. He was an extremely patient man with a kind demeanor and a soft voice.
Dr. Mason is survived by his wife, Debra; his children, Amanda (Shane) Golden, Jessica Mason, and Stewart (Molly) Mason; his grandchildren, Gavin Miller, Nolan Thomason, Kylee Golden, Shayna Golden, Isaac Golden, Lily Winkler, Quinn Mason, and Sam Mason; his brother Jimmy (Betty) Mason; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who adored him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
