She was born March 21, 1867 in Kittanning, Pa., daughter of the late Philip and Mary Daugherty Kron, received her education in that city and had been a resident of Davenport since 1896. She was married on July 14, 1886 to John P. Volk in Kittanning, Pa. He died in 1946.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal cathedral and a past member of the Golden Wedding anniversity and Tri-City Bridge clubs. In addition to the Staaks, she was survived a sister, Mrs. Fred Schneider, Indianapolis, Ind., and several other nieces and nephews.
The body will remain at the Hill and Fredericks mortuary until 10 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to Trinity cathedral for services there at 11. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park cemetery. The Rock Island Argus, Rock Island, Illinois, 10 Mar 1952, Monday
