She was the daughter of Jacob and Barbara Lowman. She was born Aug 17, 1821 and died of cancer July 12, 1878. She was a member of the Christian Church. They lived near Greenmount, Rockingham Co, Va. They were buried at Greenmount Church of the Brethren. The marker still stands and is clearly identifiable. Eli's early death was due to the inhalation of the wood dust from cabinet making.
