Lloyd O’Dell Barnes, Sr. was called home to be with his Lord, Sunday January 3, 2021. Born in Nashville, July 21, 1939, Lloyd was the son of the late Lloyd Gene Barnes and Etta Mae Rose Barnes. Lloyd was also preceded in death by a son, Monte Barnes. Lloyd was retired from working as a superintendent for several area general contractors through the years. He loved going to work and building. His strong work ethic was something he instilled in each of his children. In his free-time he enjoyed coon hunting and working with coon hounds, fishing and tending to his property. He had lived in White House since 1985 having moved from Hendersonville where he had lived since 1961. Mr. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Ivy (Whitson) Barnes; sons, Dell (Kathy-Jo) Barnes, Mark (Jolynn) Barnes and Jamie M. Barnes; daughter Christy Barnes; siblings, Donnie (Molly) Barnes, Mike Barnes, Helen (Mike) Kelley, David Barnes, Randall Barnes, Steve Barnes, and Scott (Diane) Barnes; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends. The funeral will be held Wednesday January 6th at Cole & Garrett, White House followed by interment at Hall Town Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 AM until 2 PM. Brother Morris Watson of Concord Missionary Baptist Church will be officiating. Acting as pallbearers will be Benji and Heather Brown, Chris and Courtney Cole, Jay and Miranda Ultsch, and Jordan and Holly Scott.
