Mary Endicott Prater, age 77, of Inez, Kentucky, passed away January 8, 2021, in Lexington, Kentucky. Mary was born April 19, 1943 to the late Keither and Josie Maynard Endicott. Mary was married to Darwin Prater, who proceeded her in death on July 26, 2018. They were married 56 wonderful years. Mary is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Bell (Kip) of Lexington, Kentucky and Michelle Prater of Lexington, Kentucky; three grandchildren; Tyler Adkins (Courtney) of Winfield, WV, Jeremy Nichols of Lancaster, Kentucky and Brooke Bell of Madison, WV as well as three great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by two sisters Janet Endicott Riemenschneider of Carroll, Ohio; Bonnie Endicott Craycraft of Mt. Sterling, KY and one brother Keither Endicott, JR (Nancy) of Inez, KY and a host of nieces and nephews whom she all loved dearly.
Mary was a retired Assistant Vice President-Branch Manager of Family Bank’s Inez, Kentucky Branch. Mary spent more than 30 years serving the citizens of Martin County with financial issues. She loved working with the public and truly loved the customers she served throughout the years. Mary was a faithful member of Inez Freewill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
Services will be Monday January 11, 2021 at the Inez Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be observed from 12:30-2:30 with services directly following. Due to the pandemic, services for Mary will be closed to the public and will be held for family only. All in attendance will be required to wear a face mask. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Inez Freewill Baptist Church in memory of Mary. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, KY.
