Doris Fowlkes Johnson, 74, of Staunton, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Envoy of Staunton. She was born November 28, 1946 in Keysville, Virginia, to the late Charles and Lena (Whitehead) Fowlkes.

A graduate of Smith-Madden Business College in Richmond, Virginia and was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church of Avon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and friend, Sidney A. Harris Sr.

Doris is survived by her son, Powhatan Johnson Sr. (Sarah); grandchildren, Powhatan Johnson Jr. and Emma Johnson; sister, Iris F. Page (Carl); one brother, Clarence W. Fowlkes (Linda); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Doris was an avid music lover, a seamstress and her passion for learning never ceased. Her jovial spirit, acceptance of and compassion for all will be sincerely missed.
