Aileen (Maffeo) Harper, age 69 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 surrounded by her family, due to complications of the Corona virus (Covid-19). Born to the late Ralph Edward and Yvonne Minnie (Batchelor) Maffeo in New York City, New York. Aileen was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt and friend. She had a passion for decorating and shopping. She had a style that was classy and sassy. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was quite an amazing cook, she enjoyed preparing her Italian heritage recipes for her family and friends to enjoy.

Her greatest joy was her granddaughter, Emberlyn Rose. Both their faces would light up when they saw each other, Emberlyn Rose was a miniature version of Aileen. She emulatated the grace and sassy attitude she learned from her grandmother. Aileen was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville where she enjoyed worshipping with her fellow church members.

Aileen is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Michael Harper, Knoxville; daughter, Amanda Harper, Bakersfield, CA; son, Joseph A. Harper, Knoxville; granddaughter, Emberlyn Rose Harper, Knoxville; brothers, Robert (Joy) Maffeo, Atlanta, Mitchell (Karen) Maffeo, FL; sisters, Jackie Maffeo and Christine Maffeo, both of Knoxville; nieces and nephews, Robert, Mark, Adam, Ryan and Megan.

A memorial service honoring Aileen Harper will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, Jan. 19th at Grace Lutheran Church, 9076 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service Tuesday at the Church. Please wear your mask and respect social distancing.
