Gene's extensive interests ranged from plants, animals, cooking, bicycling, hiking, photography, and cabinetmaking to historical research. He published Germantown in the Civil War and family genealogies. Boards, included Germantown Historical Society (President and Hall of Fame), G.A.R. Museum, Laurel Hill and Hood Cemeteries, and Mt. Airy Bantams. Dianne noted his remarkable disposition, unique humor, and unwavering enthusiasm for life.
Eugene was predeceased by brother Warren Stackhouse, brother-in-law Tom and, nephew Luke Burgess. He is survived by Dianne, sister Alice Burgess, niece Erica (Dave) Lozano, grandniece Gabriela Lozano, sister-in-law Angel (Scott) Linzell and children of the heart (Mills family) as well as cousins and friends.
Burial was in W. Laurel Hill Cemetery, green section.
