Irma graduated from high school in Wilbur, Nebraska. She worked for Elgin Watch Company in Nebraska, placing the jewels in the watches. Irma and her husband moved to Hutchinson in 1961. She belonged to the Elks and Moose Lodge. Irma loved sewing and was very talented; she made many things for her family. She also loved cooking, solitaire, watching football and basketball on television, and attending her grandchildren’s events. Irma attended First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
On May 2, 1942, she married Melvin Abrahams in Baltimore, Maryland. He passed away on July 30, 1994.
Irma is survived by: daughter-in-law, Laura Abrahams, Inman; son-in-law, Terry Wolcott (Fran), Sterling; grandson, Shane Abrahams, Hutchinson; granddaughter, Kristie Jermark (Jason), Florida; grandson, Dan Wolcott, Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Wolcott and Wyatt Jermark; and many nieces and nephews in Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings; husband, Melvin Abrahams; daughter, Joyce Wolcott; and son, Don Abrahams.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021, at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
