Leroy Sayles died at the home of Charlie and Frank Pontius Tuesday afternoon from diseases incident to old age. The deceased came to this section many years ago and made his home in Windsor several years, about five years ago moving out with the Pontius boys. He was 80 years old when the death summons came. He had no relatives in this country, but had a brother in California, and several other relatives in Ohio and some of the Eastern states. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. McVey of Ionia, conducted at the Pontius home Wednesday afternoon and interment made in the Ionia cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him in death several years ago." –the Windsor Review, October 11, 1917
