Death of an Aged Shoemaker.
Emanuel Rogers, one of the oldest and best-known shoemakers in this city, died this morning shortly after midnight, at his home, on South Plum street. He was a sufferer for three years with asthma and heart disease, from which he died. he was a native of this city, and was in his seventy-seventh year. For many years he resided at the old Rogers homestead, on East King street. He was an expert at his trade, and enjoyed a large patronage. Deceased was a member of Conestoga Council, No. 8, O.U.A.M., and the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife and the following children, all of this city: Harry A., Edward, William, Philip, Walter, Mary, wife of Charles Kegel; Sophia, wife of Abram Metzger; Harriet and Thomas. He was a brother of Augustus Rogers, of Intercourse, and of Mrs. Harriet Everts, of this city. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock.
