Linda Mae Peck, 74, of Edmond, Oklahoma was born April 3, 1946, in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Reverend Marcus and Mary Adair.
Linda grew up singing with her two sisters and Rita (Conn) Scott at the churches her father pastored. She graduated from Canyon High School and later from West Texas A&M both in Canyon, Texas. After years of teaching she decided to pursue her passion for interior design and opened her own business in Edmond, OK. Her innate go-getter work ethic, natural ability for warming up a space, and servant’s heart made her well-suited to this endeavor, making many clients into the friends that sustained her along the way.
Unassuming but never a wallflower, Linda’s lively style was the outward expression of her loving heart. With her vibrant tennis shoes, big earrings, and cheerful pops of color, she brought vibrancy, fun, and joy to every person in every setting. Her generosity was unmatched. She seized every opportunity to go the extra mile to help her family and friends, and had an uncanny knack for finding that special something to that let others know they were on her mind. Anyone that knew her will never forget just how wonderful it was to get a “sussy” from her.
Linda was a proud mother of her two sons, Ty and Benji, and even prouder grandmother of five boys and one girl who affectionately called her “Deedah.” They were the light of her life, and she loved them unabashedly. But it was well-known that her love for the Lord surpassed even family, and she served Him fully her whole life. She could regularly be heard singing a hymn under her breath or breaking into a Gaither chorus, and her Bible was almost always open and well-marked.
Linda is survived by her son, Ty, and wife, Rebekah, of Edmond, and son, Benji, and Katie of Nashville, Tennessee, her grandchildren, Landon, Levi, Lincoln, and Ladd and Henry and Hattie, brother, Duane Adair and wife, Carrie, of Edmond, her sisters, Velora Cummings and husband, Glenn, of Dalhart, Texas, Ann Hays, of Edmond, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, great niece and brother in-law.
A public viewing will be held at Matthews Funeral Home from 1pm to 8pm. A private service is scheduled for Thursday at Spring Creek Assembly of God in Edmond at 2 pm (it will be stream live on the internet at SpringCreekAssemby.com/funeral) with a public committal service to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
