Agnes Louise (Downs) Curless was born on January 13, 1927 in Bridgeport, NE to Irvin and Maybn Downs. The family moved to Sidney when Louise was five. She attended Sidney Public Schools and graduated in 1945.

In 1946, she married William R. Curless. They had four children, Kathy, Kris, Mark and Jay. Before retiring, Louise worked at Hipp Wholsesale-Cashwa for many years. She enjoyed watching the Broncos play.
