Sarah Fisher Coe was born in Hanover, Michigan on September 5, 1838 to Marshall and Hannah Fisher, a pair of English immigrants. She was their only daughter; she had two older brothers.
On February 15, 1860, she married Hiram Coe, a native of New York. In 1867, they moved from their home in Hanover to a lovely little farm outside of Nashville, MI. In 1907 they settled in the village.
The Coes had six children together.
Sarah was described as a "genial and capable woman" with a beautiful smile and "cheerful disposition."
She was a faithful and active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Nashville.
Sarah passed away on May 18, 1927, at the age of 88. Her pastor, Rev. G. E. Wright, officiated her funeral.
