Walter L. Wells, 68, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 7:02 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Lebanon. He was born on November 6, 1952 in Somerset, Kentucky, the son of Lewis & Audrey (Adams) Wells. He was raised in Brownsburg, Indiana, had lived in Lebanon for 15 years and has resided in Crawfordsville the past 2 years. Walter is a member of the Jamestown Church of God of Prophesy. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, fishing and playing his guitar. Walter married Marlene Twitty on November 5, 2004 in Lebanon, Indiana, she survives. Also surviving, his daughters; Tammy (George) Frazier of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Amanda (Jack) Wise of Plainfield, Indiana and Jessica (James) Alexander of Cloverdale, Indiana; his son, Walter Wells of Cloverdale, Indiana; his step daughter, Shannon (Doug) Naanos of Crawfordsville, Indiana; his step son, Steve (Alisha) Walker of Crawfordsville, Indiana; his sisters, Patty (Allan) Neal of Danville, Indiana and Rhonda Newman of Brownsburg, Indiana; his brothers, Jimmy (Paula) Wells of Cloverdale, Indiana, Jerry Newman of Pittsboro, Indiana and Don Newman of Indianapolis, Indiana; former wife, Glenna (Hicks) Wells of Cloverdale, Indiana and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis & Audrey Wells; step father Virgil Newman; brother, Timothy Dean Wells and a grandson, Conner Dean Wells. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Jamestown Church of God of Prophecy in Jamestown, Indiana with Rev. Trent Popplewell officiating. The Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. Burial will be at the Lizton Knights of Pythias Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
