Staff Sgt. James Bryson Jr., On February 13, 2006 James, a United States Marine, returned to Cherry Point North Carolina after being in Iraq for thirteen months. Bryson had been recently promoted to the rank of Staff Sgt. and had arranged to stay with a fellow Marine until he found an apartment. Bryson stored some of his belongings in a rental space, had some repairs done to his vehicle and shopped for clothes and shoes during the days after his return. He returned to work at MASS-1 where he shared the Staff Sgt. duties with a female marine. James was the victim of homicide.
