ROGERS — Mr. Charles Lee Brosh, 87, of Rogers died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at Circle of Life Hospice of Springdale. He was born in Berea, Ky., in 1920 to Charles and Nancy Lee Brosh.

A pioneer in the diamond business, Mr. Brosh created some of the industry's first marketing programs designed to assist U.S. independent jewelers in selling diamond engagement rings and fashion diamond jewelry. Mr. Brosh founded Brosh-Long Jewelers in 1944 in Newport. In 1947 he partnered with Lovebright Diamond Company, New York City, to develop their wholesale diamond business. His career spanned more than 60 years.

He was remembered most for his keen sense of humor and his love of family and friends. He loved all sports and excelled in semi-pro basketball. Mr. Brosh was a scoutmaster for a local troop of the Boy Scouts of America, member of the Lions Club and deacon in the First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 63 years, Ruth Brosh.

Mr. Brosh is survived by one daughter, Marcia Lewis and husband Jim of Baytown, Texas; three sons, Patric Brosh and wife Terrye of Bella Vista, Kevin Brosh and wife Susan of Leawood, Kansas, and Shane Brosh and wife Lee Ann of Little Rock. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Dana, Scott and Brad Dalbey, Nancy Wheeler, Brittany Adair, Leslee, Chris, Ashlee, Whitney, Charlee and Bailee Brosh; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church at Newport with the Rev. Alan Ford officiating. A private family graveside service will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Brosh, Ron Proctor, Dana Dalbey, Brad Dalbey, Scott Dalbey, Robert Newell and John Minor.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-7 p.m. at Jackson's Funeral Home.
