Albert was the son of Harrison “Harry” Stafford and Mary Jane McCoy. He married 1. Louinda Meade (d/o William Bingham Meade, III and Evaline Brewer), 2. Ollie Aldridge, 3. Betty Jackson. He died from multiple skull fractures on head due to tree falling on his head. His death certificate states place of burial was Selwyn (Forks of Marrowbone Creek), Mingo Co., WV

NOTE: According to William David May, Jr., his Grandmother Nora (Stafford) Sturgell, always attended the Brewer Cemetery meetings and said she had family buried here. This seems to prove that her father, Albert Stafford, and mother, Louinda (Meade) Stafford, are buried in this cemetery.

NAUGATUCK MAN IS KILLED BY FALLING TREE
ALBERT STAFFORD DIES OF A FRACTURED SKULL SUSTAINED WHILE CUTTING TIMBER
Albert Stafford, 68 year-old farmer and timber cutter, of Naugatuck, was fatally injured yesterday afternoon when cutting timber in the woods near Naugatuck.
Stafford died this morning at 4 o’clock in a local hospital of a fractured skull. He never fully regained consciousness after being struck.
Stafford was employed at cutting timber for Jess Newsome, who operates a sawmill near Naugatuck. Fellow timber cutters found him lying on the hillside unconscious after he had chopped down a tree. They were not able to determine if the tree Stafford cut down had struck him or if he was struck by a
nearby dead tree which fell at the same time. The injured man was rushed to the hospital, where but little hope was held for his recovery.
Stafford was struck on the top of his head and the forepart of his skull was crushed in.
Stafford had resided at Naugatuck for many years and was well known in that part of the county. He was a member of the Church of God and on numerous occasions preached in the churches of that denomination. Stafford earned a living on his own farm and engaged in timber cutting as a part-time
occupation.
He is survived by his widow; five daughters, Miss Avonell [Avanell] Stafford, of Naugatuck, Mrs. Loraine Holmes, of Charleston, Mrs. Della Watts, of Charleston, Mrs. Nora Sturgell, of Kirk, and Mrs. Columbus [Columbia] Marcum, of Delbarton; three sons, Alvis Stafford, of Chattaroy, James Stafford, of Clearco, W. Va., and Sylvester Stafford, of Holden, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Eliza Messer, of Crum,
Mrs. Lottie Sarten [Sartin], of Selwyn, Mrs. Ellen Lowe, of Selwyn, Gerlie [Gurley] Stafford, of Kermit, and Boyd Stafford, of Belo.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Selwyn cemetery with the Rev. Dorris Mullens officiating. The F. F. Allen funeral home is in charge.
