This stone was was erected by
John Mortimer, miller at
Mill of Cocklarichy and
Isobel McDonald, his spouse
In memory of their lawful son
ALEXANDER MORTIMER who died
16th May 1791 aged 10 years and 6 mths
Here also are interred the remains of the
above named JOHN MORTIMER who died
in May 1802 aged 56; of
ISOBEL McDONALD his spouse who died in
August 11th, 1819 aged 77.
And of MARY STITCHEL, their granddaughter
who died in June 1810 aged 11 years;
also of JANET MORTIMER, her mother,
who died 25th December 1845 aged 67 years
