Oakley Smith, 74, formerly of Keister Road, Middletown, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born on Jan. 6, 1927, in Owsley County, Ky., the son of George and Lillie (Stamper) Smith. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for three years. He was employed by Dayton Tire & Rubber as a tire builder for 20 years. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Wesley Smith; and three sisters, Elsie Hensley, Elizabeth Wilson and Jeannette Collins. He is survived by his brothers, Conley Smith of Reading and Brown Smith. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Eaton-Anderson & Unglesby Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St. in Franklin, with the Rev. Dale Chambers officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery with full military honors
