Ivan Abreu Sr. entered Heavens gates February 12th 2021.

Survived by his loving wife , Mariana Abreu. Loving father to Ivan ,Jonathan , Sasha and Kristine and to his additional kids Angie , Jonathan Ramos. Proud Grandfather to Brianna, Jonayriz, Josiah, Natalia and Hayley.

Standing at 6 foot and 4 inches, Ivan’s heart was just as big. He will always be remembered as a Gentle Giant.

Growing up he was always at his parents side. Falling second in line of five siblings and as the first boy, Ivan naturally took on the role of a leader Although Ivan was definitely a boy after his moms heart, the bond he shared with his father was just as GREAT!
His teenage years are full of memories from being able to slam dunk at the park by Galatin street to normal sibling altercations.

Ivan would also share stories of his athletic days. His first love was actually baseball and he had an incredible arm as a pitcher. He would always share stories of how he would knock them out the park at Roger Williams.
Another story told would be that of Ivan being Great in Basketball. He was always saying how he would rock that 10 ft rim constantly!

His biggest story told is how he was always approached for recruitment by the High School Football coach for his height and incredible arm. To be exact all coaches were always interested in him playing sports.

Ivan laid eyes on a beautiful child of God named Mariana. Instantly Ivan knew she would be the one to give him Abundant love and his kids. 4 kids and about 12 years later, Ivan had a Home full of Love and God's presence. Working as a Teacher Assistant in a vocational trade school by day and as a Coach/Rec center liaison by night, he began leaving footprints in the hearts of many.

You would also hear many others tell stories of how Ivan would open the REC center at night for all to come an play ball. He knew that the more minutes spent playing ball in the Rec center meant less time spent on the streets. It was as if Ivan was placed by God in the heart of the projects. Ivan took this as an assignment from God to spread God's love where it was needed the most. Till this day, Ivan will always be remembered as a Manton Legend!

With a strong feeling in his heart, Ivan felt that home was to be moved from Providence RI to Tampa FL. Here is where Ivan was known for being a supporter of Dreams. If you had a dream, there's was nothing that would stop him from supporting you until achieved it.
Until the very end of his life, Ivan was working hard for his family and dreams.

Ivan will be missed Greatly by many!
One thing is for certain, although he may be resting in heaven, his feet will always be walking the earth via the many footprints left in all our hearts!

Rest in Peace Ivan, enjoy your knew heavenly body!
