Mrs. Adaline Reed, (nee Osterday) aged 78 years, wife of the late Chalres Reed, died at the home of her son John in Lamont on Thursday Aug. 13, 1908, at 5:20 o'clock after a brief illness.
She was the mother of eight children, five boys and three girls, as follows: John W., Chas. H. and Lewis, of Lamont; Wm. of Hazel Green and Levi who was lost in Canada; Mrs. Herbert Thomas, Chicago, Mrs. Geo. Putnam, Argyle and Bell Sandley of Toma, Wis.
For 50 years or more she has lived within that immediate vicinity and was loved and respected by all who knew her. It seems there is no place in this world so hard to fill as that made vacant by the death of a kind and loving mother.
The funeral was held on Sunday and the remains laid to rest beside her husband, who had preceded her 17 years, in the Wiota cemetery.
